River Journey | Hand-Dyed Indigo Tencel Linen Scarf Collection

Inspired by the ever-changing character of rivers, River Journey (河行) captures four expressions of water in naturally hand-dyed indigo — from powerful currents and quiet streams to winding river bends and mist-covered waters.

Each scarf begins with a lightweight crinkled Tencel-linen blend and is individually folded, bound, and dyed by hand using natural plant indigo. Rather than printing a predetermined pattern onto the fabric, the dye is allowed to travel through the folds and creases organically, creating variations that can never be exactly repeated.

Choose from four individual designs, each interpreting water in a different way:

Design F – River Surge | 川澜
Strong vertical indigo markings evoke a river rushing forward with energy and movement. Bold, rhythmic, and expressive.

Design T – Gentle Torrent | 素湍
Fine vertical lines suggest the quieter movement of a gently flowing stream. A more subtle, meditative interpretation of water in motion.

Design H – River Bend | 回湾
A sweeping curved composition recalls a river winding naturally through the landscape — simple, fluid, and beautifully graphic.

Design J – Azure Ferry | 沧渡
Soft transitions between pale blue and deep indigo evoke a distant river disappearing beneath layers of morning mist.

Same river family. Four very different personalities.

The Story Behind the Collection

Rivers never hold a single form.

They rush through narrow passages, move quietly across open ground, curve around the landscape, and disappear beneath mist. River Journey translates these changing states of water into four abstract indigo compositions.

Through folding, binding, and hand dyeing, the indigo moves naturally through the crinkled textile. The process intentionally leaves room for unpredictability — allowing water, dye, fabric, and the maker's hand to shape the final piece together.

No two scarves emerge exactly alike.
