Inspired by water rushing through a quiet mountain stream, Mountain Stream Veins (山涧流纹) transforms natural indigo into long, flowing layers of blue.

Vertical markings travel organically along the crinkled fabric, shifting from misty pale blue to deeper indigo. The irregular lines and softly diffused areas evoke streams finding their way through rock and mountain valleys — fluid, spontaneous, and impossible to repeat.

Each scarf is individually handcrafted from a crinkled Tencel-linen blend using natural plant indigo and traditional folding, binding, and resist-dyeing techniques. The dye follows the folds and texture of the cloth, allowing the pattern to emerge naturally rather than being printed or mechanically reproduced.

The result is a lightweight textile with beautiful movement, breathability, and texture — equally at home around your shoulders or hanging on a wall. Apparently, this scarf refuses to choose between fashion and art.

The Story Behind the Design

Mountain Stream Veins (山涧流纹) takes its inspiration from the movement of mountain water.

Long vertical textures resemble streams descending through a landscape, while indigo travels unpredictably through the folds of the fabric. Pale washes meet deeper blues, creating a sense of depth, mist, water, and movement.

Because the pattern is created through hand folding, binding, and dyeing rather than printing, the final composition belongs only to that individual piece.
