Inspired by the movement of ocean tides, Lateral Tide captures the moment seawater sweeps sideways across the shore. Deep indigo flows asymmetrically across soft white cotton, creating an expressive composition of movement, water, and open space.
Each piece is individually hand-dyed with plant-based indigo. The pattern develops naturally through the dyeing process, creating organic variations that cannot be exactly repeated. Every shawl is a one-of-a-kind piece of wearable textile art.

The Story Behind the Design
Lateral Tide — 《侧汐》 — is part of the Azure Ocean · Multi-Wear Tie-Dye Shawl Collection (《沧溟》).
Inspired by oceans, rivers, tides, and waves, the collection uses traditional hand-dyeing and plant indigo to translate the movement of water into cloth. In Lateral Tide, indigo appears to surge inward from one side, recalling a tide sweeping diagonally across the shoreline.
Because the pattern is created through the natural movement and absorption of dye, no two pieces are exactly alike.
