Inspired by the movement of water, Azure Vortex captures swirling currents of indigo in an expressive textile that can be worn, draped, or displayed as art.
This listing is available in two individually hand-dyed patterns — Design C and Design D. Both share the Azure Vortex concept, yet each has its own composition. Radiating circular forms emerge through layers of deep and pale indigo, creating organic patterns reminiscent of ripples, whirlpools, and water in motion.
Each scarf is handcrafted from a beautiful crinkled Tencel-linen blend using traditional binding, folding, and natural plant indigo dyeing techniques. Because the patterns develop naturally during the dyeing process, no two pieces can ever be exactly reproduced.
The softly crinkled fabric gives the scarf wonderful texture, breathability, and graceful drape without feeling overly formal — because beautiful art should be allowed to leave the wall once in a while.

The Story Behind the Design
Azure Vortex (青涡) explores the fluid movement of water through circular, radiating forms. Indigo spreads outward in shifting concentrations of blue, allowing the dye itself to become part of the composition. The irregularities created through hand binding and dyeing are intentional — they are what give each textile its individual character.
